In my work I am constantly exploring the properties of paint. From color to brushstrokes and everything in between. It is a never-ending journey that I never tire from. Expanding my knowledge and learning new techniques is what keeps me going. It doesn’t matter if I am painting an abstract or a portrait, ultimately it’s about the medium and finding new ways to paint.
James Overstreet was born in 1988. He is currently located in Cheyenne Wyoming, working as a fine artist. Overstreet’s main focus is oil painting, however he is accomplished in acrylic and watercolor. Overstreet works in other mediums as well, including ceramics, sculpture, drawing and photography. Overstreet obtained his Bachelor of Fine Art degree at Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design in 2017. James has shown his work in various galleries and institutions throughout the western United States.
